Congratulations bc211 on launching texting service to the residents of Lower Mainland BC

As of 3:30 PM PST today, residents of Lower MainlandBC will be able to access bc211 services simply by texting 211 from their mobile devices. This means accessing free information and referral regarding community, government and social services is now even easier.

Launched in partnership with TELUS andwith support from the TELUS Vancouver Community Board, 211 mobile text messaging service will initially focus on connecting with Lower Mainland youth. Research conducted by bc211 shows that the issues most impacting local youth are mental health, substance abuse, connection to community, and homelessness. 211 mobile text messaging service offers another channel to access bc211’s services, using technology that youth have already embraced. Our goal is to enhance our ability to connect youth to the services they need in addressing these key issues.
