As a follow up to last year’s communications, we are excited to let you know that InformCanada and InformOntario have merged and are now under a single entity of InformCanada. A primary objective of this merger was to simplify access to consolidated benefits and resources for all interested members across Canada. Going forward, members only need a single membership to access the Canadian benefits, as well as the resources through InformUSA!
New this year there are some changes to the use of the taxonomy through 211LA. InformCanada has been working to understand the changes in the costing model of 211LA, who has moved to a larger fee per year for the use of the taxonomy. As part of this, 211LA has also changed the name of the taxonomy to the Human Services Indexing System (HSIS). This involves a significant shift from what we have previously paid, towards a cost of $200 USD yearly for each user. As part of InformCanada’s commitment to ensuring a smooth transition, a fee of $130 CDN is being applied for those requiring access to this system for the 2025 year. As part of this transition year, InformCanada is pleased to let you know that we will take on part of this cost for the 2025 year only to help with the transition. In 2026 this cost will increase to the equivalent of $200 USD for access. This cost is only for those requiring access to the taxonomy.
For the 2025 year, single rate members can access:
- Gold membership with InformUSA (platinum upgrade available through InformUSA)
- Access to the InformUSA I&R Training Manual (Canadian edition)
- Access to the Standards for Professional Information and Referral (Canadian edition)
- Access to the InformUSA Learn LMS system
- Access to the InformUSA Networker
- Access to recorded workshops (Canada) and networking with colleagues
- Reduced rates to the InformUSA and Canadian conferences
- Reduced rates to the InformUSA Canadian Certification system
For 2025, membership will be as follows:
- Nonprofit | Annual Operating budget more than $75,000 – $700.00 CDN
- Nonprofit | Annual Operating budget less than $75,000 – $450.00 CDN
- For Profit – $1700.00 CDN
- Individual (member service only available; Training Manual and Taxonomy not included)- $175.00 CDN
- *NEW* Access to Human Services Indexing System (formerly the 211LA taxonomy) – $130 CDN
Registration is now open for 2025. We appreciate your patience as we have worked through the many changes to membership this year, both from a Canadian context, and with significant changes to the taxonomy.
